The Nº1 Hairpin is a favorite for many of you worldwide, but what’s the story behind it? How did Fiona create the Nº1 Hairpin and how did she know this one is gonna work so well? Besides the No1 Hairpin she also created a Haircare line, all based on natural ingredients. How did Fiona come up with this formula? We love to tell you all about it in this blog.
Fiona Franchimon is the founder and creator of the Nº1 Hairpin and the Haircare products. Fiona has experience in the beauty and hairindustry for more than twenty years and has her own styling salon since 2010. Five years later, in 2015, she came up with the idea of creating a hairpin that’s elegant but mostly comfortable in wearing. Her goal was to create a hairpin where you can style your hair in different hairstyles within seconds. While she designed the No1 Hairpin she realized that the shape of the hairpin is very important to us. She created the pin in the shape of the scalp so it is comfortable and you barely feel wearing it. Besides that she wanted to create a hair tool which can be a replacement for elastics. Elastics keep loads of bacterias in it and damage your hair easily. Altogether she created the Nº1 Hairpin which is strong enough to hold your hair and because it’s made of soft polymer it doesn’t give any damage to your hair. The Nº1 Hairpin is usable for any kind of hair and you can create multiple elegant hairstyles within seconds.
Fiona also created the Fiona Franchimon Haircare line. They are very unique, natural based and all created in The Netherlands. She created three different haircare lines: Moisture & Balance, Color & Shine and Volume & Hydrate. She created these formulations from scratch, as she went to a lab to create a formula that’s new and mostly neutral.

The Moisture & Balance line has a premium extract of broccoli seed oil, which is the main ingredient that protects the hair from heat, detoxifies and strengthens it. In addition, it provides a protective layer around the hair with a significant increase in hydration. The result is stunningly shiny, voluminous and rejuvenated hair. This shampoo and conditioner are very suitable for dry and curly hair and to care for the scalp.
The Color & Shine is extremely charged with positive ions, balancing the negative ions and balancing the hair neutrally. It preserves the natural oils, color and moisture of the hair and ensures that the hair cuticles close and become smooth. The main ingredient is Green Tea extract which has antioxidant properties that prevent sun damage and provides many benefits for natural or dyed hair.
The Volume & Hydrate has the premium ingredient Aquaflex™ XL-30 and has a unique film properties that provide volume and a long-lasting hold on the hair. The volume shampoo and conditioner give a huge moisture "boost" that immediately visibly improves your hair condition. The topcoat film layer provides resilient hair. This shampoo and conditioner are perfect for fine hair, curly hair and dehydrated hair and the conditioner can also be used as a hair mask.
It was a long journey, but we are very proud of it. We are still creating new products, but because we are creating completely new formulas we take our time. Stay tuned for more!
